Perennial Holdings And Far East Organization Unveil Golden Mile Singapore And Will Launch Strata

“Perennial Holdings and Far East Organization have revealed their vision for the revitalization of the iconic Golden Mile Complex. The development partners announced the preview of the strata-titled commercial units at the former Golden Mile Complex, which is now known as Golden Mile Singapore. This will be Singapore’s first large-scale strata-titled conservation building, preserving its tropical linear urban complex with brutalist architecture.

The building has been renamed The Golden Mile and will feature 156 Grade A office units, 19 medical suites, a two-storey retail component spanning 123,388 sq ft, and a public access architecture center. These units will be available for sale this month.

Aurea, a new 45-storey residential tower with 188 units, will also be developed on the site where the residential carpark used to be. The condominium is scheduled to be previewed next quarter.

CEO of Perennial Holdings, Pua Seck Guan, recalls the vibrant retail mix that characterized the heyday of Golden Mile Complex in the 1970s. However, over the years, the strata-titled ownership changed the character of the development and it lost its prime mixed-use status. Pua and Far East Organization are determined to elevate the building’s status as a next-generation urban complex in Singapore.

They have partnered with DP Architects, the firm that initially proposed the iconic design of Golden Mile Complex, and conservation specialist consultancy Studio Lapis to create a new vision for the building. The refreshed Golden Mile Singapore will see a shift in the allocation of space, with 48% for offices, 30% for residential, 15% for retail, and 7% for medical suites and an architecture center. Two new public access urban gardens will also be created on the 9th and 18th floors.

The retail atrium will be revamped with a new event space and F&B offerings. The design will bring back natural light and ventilation, resembling the original shopping experience of the complex.

The Golden Mile will attract both corporate tenants and family offices, creating an ecosystem of tenants from different industries and market segments. The office units will also feature a unique dual-key layout, typically seen in private residential projects. Perennial Holdings and Far East Organization hope to appeal to the 2,500 family offices that have established themselves in Singapore in recent years.
