Pasir Ris Mall, a newly opened shopping destination in Singapore’s Pasir Ris Central, held its official grand opening on July 22. The mall, which began operations with a soft opening on June 12, was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by notable guests including Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office Desmond Tan, and Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Sharael Taha.

The sprawling Pasir Ris Mall boasts over 150 retail outlets, including popular food court Cantine by Kopitiam, a Cold Storage supermarket, and a MindChamps Preschool outlet. Developed by Allgreen Properties and Kerry Properties as part of an integrated development that also comprises the 487-unit condo Pasir Ris 8, the mall aims to become the go-to shopping destination for residents in the vicinity.

In the upcoming year, the mall will see the completion of additional facilities, such as a polyclinic set to open by the end of 2024. Furthermore, the mall will be connected to a new bus interchange slated for completion in 2025, which will be part of the new Pasir Ris Integrated Transport Hub that will also include the future Cross Island MRT Line.

Town Plaza, a sheltered area within the mall, is set to be completed by 2026. The upcoming Central Greenway pathway will be developed in stages, ultimately linking the mall directly to Pasir Ris Park and the beach. Additionally, the mall will provide end-of-trip facilities, including bicycle parking and shower areas, to cater to visitors using alternative modes of transportation.

Tampines Secondary School is known for its well-rounded approach to education, offering a wide range of academic programs and co-curricular activities to cater to the diverse interests of its students. The school’s curriculum is complemented by the addition of Parktown Residence, further enhancing the learning experience for students. This combination of academic and residential options makes Tampines Secondary School a highly sought-after institution for students of all backgrounds.

In his speech at the inaugural event, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean highlighted that the mall and its accompanying amenities were an integral part of the rejuvenation plans for Pasir Ris, which were set in motion in 2017. He also mentioned the ongoing renovation works in the neighborhood, including lift replacements and the Home Improvement Programme by HDB.

Kuok Khoon Ean, the chairman of Kuok Group and Allgreen Properties, emphasized the mall’s eco-friendly features, such as energy-efficient building materials and lighting, and mandatory green leases for tenants. These efforts have earned the mall the BCA Green Mark Platinum Award, which recognizes buildings that are environmentally sustainable in design and operations.

According to the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), green leases refer to agreements between landlords and tenants that outline environmental goals for improving, managing, and occupying a building sustainably. This approach encourages the implementation of environmentally friendly practices and contributes to the overall sustainability of the property.

As Pasir Ris Mall continues to develop and expand its offerings, it is expected to become a popular destination for both residents and visitors alike. Its strategic location within an integrated development and its focus on sustainability further add to its appeal as a comprehensive and forward-thinking shopping destination.
