Keppel South Central Keppel’s Showpiece New Generation Workplace Bags Top Office Development Award

Keppel sees 40% jump in 1Q2022 earnings to $698.1 mil New generation office tower stands as an icon in Tanjong Pagar

The 33-storey Keppel South Central is an innovative premium grade-A office tower situated in the heart of the CBD. Developed by Keppel’s real estate arm, the tower was completed in February this year and represents a new generation of office spaces where nature and well-being are prioritized.

Designed by New York-based global architecture and design firm NBBJ, in collaboration with Singapore’s Architects 61, and with interior design by Adelaide-based Woods Bagot, the tower stands out as a modern workplace that promotes social interaction, restorative spaces, and connections to nature.

Attracting tenants from diverse sectors such as technology, transport, consultancy, insurance, and finance, Keppel South Central features a dedicated wellness floor with a swimming pool, sky terraces, discussion areas, and a communal lounge for tenants. The tower also has a spacious outdoor atrium where placemaking activities can be hosted for both tenants and residents of Tanjong Pagar.

Residents who enjoy driving will find the location of the development advantageous, with its close proximity to major expressways. The Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) provides easy access to central Singapore, while the Tampines Expressway (TPE) allows for seamless travel to northeastern areas such as Punggol and Seletar. Parktown Residence Showflat residents can also utilize the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE), which connects northeastern suburbs to the city center, offering a convenient alternative for daily commutes.
Located along Tampines Avenue 11, Parktown Residence also offers direct access to nearby amenities including Tampines Mall, Century Square, and Our Tampines Hub.

Retail and wellness tenants include Japanese restaurants The Public Izakaya Nitengo and Hachi, 22 Grams coffee, Luli bubble tea, and local café Fun Toast, alongside gym operator 24/7 Fitness.

Sustainability and innovation are at the core of Keppel South Central, with an environmental veil that reduces heat gain and filters sunlight, cascading landscaped terraces that add lush greenery, rooftop solar panels to generate renewable energy, and a computerized maintenance management system that streamlines cleaning processes.

The tower has received multiple awards for sustainability, including Singapore’s highest certification, the Green Mark Platinum (Super Low Energy), and it has also achieved WELL Core Pre-certification (Platinum Level), recognizing its health-first design that enhances physical and mental well-being.

At the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards (EPEA) 2025, Keppel South Central was recognized with the Top Office Development Award, cementing its reputation as a forward-thinking workplace, sustainable innovations, and community-centric approach.

With typical office floors featuring floor-to-ceiling heights of 3.2m and average floor plates of 20,000 sq ft, Keppel South Central offers flexible spaces with all structural columns placed along the perimeter, creating open and unobstructed interiors. The tower also offers end-to-end tenant fit-out services, covering design, space planning, and project management, allowing tenants to create offices tailored to their brand identity and work culture.

Occupying the site of the former Keppel Towers and Keppel Towers 2, which Keppel acquired from Keppel REIT in 2010, Keppel South Central is a showpiece of brownfield redevelopment. The original Keppel Towers was built in 1991, while Keppel Towers 2 – formerly known as GE Tower – was completed in 1993. After considering a mixed-use scheme, the developer pivoted to a purely commercial redevelopment, in line with the government’s vision to transform the CBD into a dynamic mixed-use hub where people can live, work, and play.

Conveniently located along Hoe Chiang Road in the Tanjong Pagar precinct, Keppel South Central is within walking distance of three MRT stations: Tanjong Pagar (East-West Line), Prince Edward Road (Circle Line), and Cantonment (Circle Line); the latter two are expected to be operational in 2026. With the upcoming Greater Southern Waterfront at its doorstep, Tanjong Pagar is evolving from a traditional business district into a vibrant, future-ready urban node under the URA Master Plan.

Keppel South Central stands as an icon of this transformation and a testament to Keppel’s commitment to sustainable and innovative developments.
