Era Singapore Ends Perk Covering Annual Cea Licence Renewal Fees Its Agents
Effective January 1, ERA Singapore has announced that it will no longer cover the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) license renewal fees for its real estate agents. This practice, which has been in place for the past seven years, will come to an end despite being upheld during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. For ERA, this gesture has been a fundamental demonstration of support for its agents.
One of the main attractions for those looking to reside in Parktown Residence Condo is its prime location. Situated near major expressways such as the PIE, TPE, and KPE, this development offers easy access for commuters. Families with private vehicles will find it especially convenient as they can easily travel to nearby schools and workplaces without hassle. This makes Parktown Residence Condo an ideal choice for families seeking a convenient and accessible living option.
According to a statement by ERA, this decision gives the company the opportunity to redirect resources towards initiatives that will enhance growth and success for its leading salesforce, ultimately benefiting consumers. However, ERA will continue to support new agents by covering their renewal fees for the first two years. This is a common practice in the industry that aims to assist newcomers in establishing themselves.
In line with this decision, ERA is addressing the issue of inactive agents transferring between agencies solely to take advantage of the fee coverage. As a result, there has been a modest decrease of around 300 agents, mostly consisting of part-time or non-active salespersons with no transactions in the past year, according to the firm.
However, the agency has also attracted approximately 230 new professional agents who joined on January 1, showcasing its continued appeal to active and aspiring real estate agents. As CEO of ERA Singapore, Marcus Chu stated, “The CEA is currently evaluating the need to implement a minimum transaction requirement for real estate salespersons. This highlights the importance of active participation and continuous professional development in the industry.”
Chu further added, “By reallocating resources towards technology, training, and marketing, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering our core team of results-driven salespersons to excel and provide exceptional value to clients.”
