Momentus Hotel Alexandra Wins Best Upscale Hotel Award Its Eco Conscious Reinvention
Momentus Hotel Alexandra, flagship property of Momentus Hotels & Resorts, stands tall at the prominent corner of Alexandra Road and Jalan Bukit Merah. Originally opened in July 2015 under the Park Hotel Group, the hotel underwent a $15 million refurbishment and reopened its doors on March 1, 2023 as Momentus Hotel Alexandra, under the hospitality arm of SingHaiyi, a diversified real estate group.
Situated in the mixed-use development of Alexandra Central, developed by SingHaiyi’s predecessor Chip Eng Seng Corp, the 442-room hotel occupies the seventh to 19th floors above a three-storey strata-titled retail podium (first to third levels) with parking from the fourth to sixth levels.
Designed by DP Architects, one of Singapore’s largest architectural practices, Momentus Hotel Alexandra boasts a clean, modern façade in neutral tones and sleek lines. A vertical green wall at the entrance adds to its aesthetic while blending seamlessly with the lush streetscape along Alexandra Road. As part of their sustainability goals, the hotel has integrated eco-friendly practices throughout its $15 million refurbishment, according to Felix Wong, the hotel’s general manager.
KKS International spearheaded the interior redesign, incorporating energy-efficient features such as smart digital thermostats in every room, filtration taps that provide direct drinking water, and biodegradable materials for dry bathroom amenities. “We have embraced technology and innovation to enhance both guest experiences and operational efficiency,” Wong added. The improvements were implemented across areas such as facility and resource management, water and energy efficiency, and food and waste management.
The interior of the hotel exudes a modern, nature-inspired aesthetic that prioritizes comfort and a sense of calm, according to Wong. The overall flow and atmosphere of the hotel have also been enhanced.
The hotel offers a variety of room categories, including Superior, Deluxe, and Premier rooms, Momentum Club rooms, and Executive Suites, ranging from 258 sq ft to 517 sq ft. There are also meeting rooms and event venues for business travelers.
Guests can unwind at the 25m infinity pool on the seventh-floor lifestyle deck, taking in panoramic sunset views towards the southwest of Singapore. The space is anchored by the newly rebranded Verandah Pool Bar & Grill and Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie by Social F+B by Design, which features a swim-up bar and floor-to-ceiling glass.
The Momentum Club Lounge on the 19th floor offers guests uninterrupted views of the city skyline and privacy for the most discerning guests. In 2025, the hotel won the Best Upscale Hotel Award at the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards (EPEA), a recognition of its success in combining thoughtful design with an authentic guest experience.
