SRI, a leading real estate agency in Singapore, has recently announced the appointment of Thomas Tan as their new CEO on December 1st. Tan previously served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ERA Singapore, the second-largest real estate agency in terms of salesforce and a subsidiary of APAC Realty, from July 2021 to March 2023. Following this, he took on the role of Chief Learning Officer (CLO) at ERA from March to August 2023.
Prior to joining ERA, Tan was the CLO at Life Mastery Academy, an accredited course provider for the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) course, which is mandatory for all newly licensed real estate agents. This academy is under PropNex, the largest listed real estate agency in terms of salesforce and has been accredited by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA). Tan had been a part of Life Mastery Academy since March 2020.
Tan has been an instrumental figure in the real estate industry for the past eight years, serving as the Director and Key Executive Officer of RE Training & Consultancy (RETC) and also as the President of Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA). He has trained over 10,000 students in the Real Estate Salesperson and Continuing Professional Development Courses at RETC. In addition, Tan has also been an Associate Trainer at Real Centre Network for nine years, from 2010 to 2019. He began his career at Remax Singapore, a real estate franchise, where he spent 12 years and served as an Executive Director.
SRI’s co-founder and managing partner, Bruce Lye, has expressed his confidence in Tan, saying “He was a successful real estate agent at Remax when I first met him 17 years ago. His extensive training and leadership experience make him the perfect fit for the role of CEO at SRI. With his expertise, Tan can introduce a training framework that caters to the agents at SRI.”
On his appointment, Tan has stated, “I strongly believe in the immense growth potential of SRI and their dedication to further enhancing their esteemed reputation.” The previous CEO of SRI was Tony Koe, who stepped down in June this year after serving in the role for five years.
