On June 25, JTC launched the tender for an industrial Government Land Sales (IGLS) site at Kallang Way. The site is the last of five Confirmed List sites under the 1H2024 IGLS programme. The 4.41ha site is zoned for Business 2, designated for food manufacturing, and has a gross floor area (GFA) of 1.23 million sq ft. Unique to this tender is the adaptive reuse requirement, as part of a new framework to promote sustainable development while preserving industrial buildings with historical and cultural significance. The existing three-storey terrace factory on the site, built in the 1980s, features unique architectural features such as gable-end wall profiles and protruding solar fins, which the successful bidder must preserve. The lease for the site will be extended to 32 years to allow for the necessary clearance and development plans for adaptive reuse. This requirement is in line with JTC’s goal of rejuvenating mature industrial lands and estates in a sustainable manner. In a separate announcement, JTC has also made available a site at Tukang Innovation Drive for application. This site will only be released for sale if it receives an offer above an acceptable minimum bid price, and is the last of four Reserve List sites under the 1H2024 IGLS programme. The site is zoned for Business 2 and has a GFA of 187,141 sq ft. The application period for this site will close on July 24 at 11am.
