Celebrating its 20th anniversary in China, Banyan Group has recently expanded its portfolio of properties in the country with two new additions: Angsana Zhoushan, a 222-key hotel, and Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang, a 100-key hotel. Both properties are located in Zhejiang Province in Eastern China. According to Philip Ding, Banyan Group’s senior vice president for hotel operations and business development in China, the landscape and cultural heritage of Zhejiang make it a perfect fit for the company’s brands, Angsana and Homm. Ding adds that both properties showcase local traditions, promote ecological harmony, and reflect the group’s commitment to sustainable and design-led hospitality. With the opening of these two hotels, Banyan Group now has a total of 36 operating hotels in China, its largest market. Two more hotels, Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay and Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island, are set to open later this year. This expansion in China is in line with Banyan’s wider growth plans, with the company on track to open its 100th property, Mandai Rainforest by Banyan Tree, in Singapore in November. Banyan Group has a presence in over 20 countries and operates 12 different brands, including Banyan Tree, Angsana, Dhawa, Homm, Laguna, Garrya, and Cassia.
