Habyt Launches New Co Living Space Tanjong Pagar
Habyt, a leading operator in the co-living industry, has recently launched a new accommodation space at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. Known as Kada at Maxwell, this flagship space introduces the operator’s Habyt Flex concept, which marks a strategic expansion of the company’s product offerings beyond long-term co-living. This move is in line with Habyt Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Wong’s announcement in August that the company was planning to introduce more short-term living options to its local portfolio. The first two properties under the Habyt Flex concept, Habyt Novena with 39 rooms and Habyt Kallang with 27 rooms, were launched in August. Other properties under this concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen House by Habyt.
Kada at Maxwell boasts 18 elegant rooms, including en-suite studios and two- to three-bedroom units. Each room comes with a fully equipped kitchenette, giving guests the flexibility to cook their own meals. The rooms can be booked on a nightly or weekly basis, with an option for a 12-month stay.

According to Wong, Kada at Maxwell is a testament to Habyt’s commitment to redefine flexible living in Singapore, and it marks the company’s shift towards the next phase of evolution in the Asia Pacific region. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will start at $180 per night.
This unique living space is housed within a well-preserved 1920s colonial building, designed by the renowned architectural firm Swan & Maclaren. The building was one of the earliest modernist structures in Singapore and was originally built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

In September 2023, the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) launched a public tender to lease the property. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept, and SLA encouraged bidders to consider creative lifestyle concepts. Out of all the bids received, Bethesda Medical’s monthly rental bid of $103,000 emerged as the third-highest bid price, after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240). SLA cited Bethesda’s strong focus on community building and connecting people with businesses as the key factor that gave its concept the winning edge. The first floor of the building will feature 10 F&B options, while the second floor will house a Limitless gym, a wellness center in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working space. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell will occupy the third floor.
Residents of Kada at Maxwell will have unlimited and complimentary access to the property’s health and wellness amenities, including a performance gym, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs, and foot baths. As Wong puts it, “By blending modern conveniences with the timeless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a unique lifestyle experience that goes beyond traditional accommodation.”
