Singles Eligible Two Room Flexi Flats All Estates October Bto Exercise

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has announced that singles will soon be eligible to apply for new two-room flexi flats in Standard, Prime, and Plus projects across the island. This applies to the upcoming October 2024 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise.The new classification framework divides flats into three categories – Prime, Plus, and Standard – based on their location. Under the previous framework, singles were only able to apply for BTO flats in non-mature estates. However, the new classification framework will not apply to flats that have been launched before the October 2024 exercise.AdvertisementIn the secondary market, when the new classification flats and those launched under the Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) scheme enter the market, all singles will be able to purchase Standard or Plus resale flats of any size, except for 3Gen flats. Two-room flats will also be available for purchase for singles under the Prime and PLH category. Singles looking to purchase a resale flat to live with their parents or family members will have the option of purchasing a larger resale Prime or PLH flat as long as they meet the eligibility conditions.However, there will be additional conditions for the purchase of Plus, Prime, and PLH resale flats. These include a $14,000 monthly income ceiling for Plus flats and $7,000 for two-room Prime and PLH flats. Singles who are looking to purchase a resale flat can receive additional assistance in the form of the CPF Housing Grant (up to $40,000) and the Proximity Housing Grant (up to $15,000).Singles who wish to live with or near their parents will also be given priority access when they apply for BTO flats starting from mid-2025.
